How to delete your Drink Radar account, and which data is erased versus retained.
You can delete your Drink Radar account at any time. Deletion is immediate, irreversible and free. You don't need to contact us or wait for a confirmation.
How to delete your account
You delete your account directly in the app:
Log in to the Drink Radar app (in the mobile version or via drinkradar.net).
Open the Profile tab in the bottom menu.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Tap "Delete account".
Confirm your decision in the dialog shown.
Once confirmed, your account and its associated data are deleted immediately.
A club account is deleted in the club panel with the "Delete club account" option — it works the same way and erases the club profile, its photos, events and stats.
Want to keep a copy of your data? Before deleting your account you can request it by e-mail — write to drinkradar@drinkradar.net from the e-mail address linked to your account and you will receive a JSON file with your data.
What is deleted
Deleting your account immediately and permanently erases the following data:
Your profile (name, nickname, date of birth and age, gender, interests, pin style, visibility mode and other settings — including any previously stored profile bio and answers to profile questions).
Your photos: profile and gallery (removed from our file storage), as well as a verification selfie if one was uploaded in an earlier version of the app.
All your 1:1 chat conversations — entire threads, for both participants, together with pending chat requests.
Your "Going out today" plan, your joins to other people's plans and other people's joins to your plans, and the messages you sent in plan chats.
Your friends and friend requests (together with per-friend visibility settings).
Your confirmed meetups history and the 👍/👎 ratings given after meetups.
Your event declarations ("Interested" / "I'm going").
Your club check-ins and event attendance confirmations.
Your blocks (in both directions).
Violation reports — both those you filed and those about you (together with the evidence).
A club you run, together with its events, photos and stats, and the club's verified phone number (where applicable).
Your authentication account (the e-mail address and phone number assigned to the account).
Push notification tokens of your devices.
Your location and last-activity information.
What remains after deletion
Anonymized analytics events. Product events (e.g. "registration completed", "friend request sent") are not erased but permanently detached from the account — only the event name and its time remain, with no way to link them to you.
Only if the account was banned for violating the Terms: one-way cryptographic hashes (HMAC-SHA256) of the e-mail address and phone number — never these data in plain form — kept for 3 years from the account deletion, solely to prevent re-registration with the same details (basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Error reports (Sentry), which are not linked to your account — they expire automatically after at most 90 days.
Timeframes
Data is deleted immediately after confirmation — your account disappears from maps, user lists and other people's chats the moment you tap confirm. Data disappears from database backups as the backups rotate, no later than within 30 days.
I can't log in to delete my account
If you've lost access to your account (you don't remember the password and have no access to the e-mail address or phone number assigned to it), write to us at drinkradar@drinkradar.net. We will verify your identity and delete the account manually within 30 days of your request.
