How Drink Radar prevents child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Drink Radar is a social app intended exclusively for adults (18+). We do not tolerate, in any form, content depicting child sexual abuse, materials suggesting the sexualization of minors, or attempts to contact minors for sexual purposes (child grooming). Below we describe the concrete mechanisms that prevent this.
Registering with Drink Radar requires providing a date of birth. Our system automatically calculates the age from it and rejects account creation if the user is under 18 — this is a hard server-side validation that cannot be bypassed from the client app.
Profile photos, profile bios and chat messages are automatically scanned by an external content moderation system (OpenAI Moderation API) before being published or sent. Content flagged as violating the rules — including any suggestion of sexualizing minors — is automatically blocked and never reaches other users. In rare cases of temporary unavailability of this external service, content may be processed without automated review so that users are not locked out of the app — violation reports are then reviewed manually (see point 4).
Images uploaded by users — including the profile photo — are analyzed by automated artificial intelligence systems (OpenAI Moderation and Vision image analysis), which detect, among other things, prohibited content, content suggesting the sexualization of minors, or content inconsistent with the profile. Content flagged by the system as suspicious or rule-breaking is forwarded for manual review by the Drink Radar administration team — a human reviews it and makes the final decision (rejection, hiding, account ban). However, we do not manually verify the identity of every user or compare faces in photos — the "verified" status does not mean confirmation of a user's legal identity.
Every user can at any time:
Reports reach the Drink Radar team and are reviewed manually, with priority and without undue delay. Accounts linked to a justified suspicion of child sexual abuse are blocked by the administration team, and report data is retained to prevent the same person from registering again and — where required by law — to hand it over to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
In the case of a justified suspicion of content or behaviour related to child sexual abuse, Drink Radar reports the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authorities and, where applicable, to the relevant child protection organizations (e.g. the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children — NCMEC), in accordance with applicable law.
If you come across content or behaviour in the Drink Radar app that concerns you in the context of child safety, report it immediately:
Every report concerning child safety is treated as a priority and reviewed without delay by our team.
